Thanks guys! I'm honestly not overly concerned about the band at this point. Landing this job not only gets me back to living a normal life, but it sets a longterm plan I have in motion. I have also just enrolled my self back into the local Technical college to get my Associates Degree in HVACR. I had taken online classes while I was studying as an apprentice at my last job, but I feel like I really didn't gain anything from them and most companies I have interviewed with actually frowned on those classes lol. With working and studying full time, I'll have very little time for band stuff on weekdays, but I guess thats what the weekends are for
The hardest part about this ordeal was the time that it happened, in the winter months. My old lady's is seasonal just like my job is. She works at a Spa on Kiawha Island, and summertime is their busy season, and it dies down in the winter a lot. We had both saved some to help get us through the roughest months January, and February. After I lost my job in November, we had exhausted all of our savings by mid January. We had to fall behind on our mortgage for February and March just to pay the bills, and put a little food on the table. It got so bad at one point we were eating Spaghetti O's and ramen noodles for a few weeks just so we could have enough money to feed the dogs after all the bills were paid. We caught back up in April with our Tax returns, and luckily her busy season kicked right back in at full force. Everything was starting to look up again until my unemployment was cut off. At that point, we just felt like we had got our asses kicked. When I got the call letting me know that I had got the job, my old lady an I were eating breakfast and trying to figure out what we were going to do with the house if my unemployment didn't get reinstated, and I hadn't found a job before the fall season hit. I'll just say there was a lot of emotion in the room when I broke the news to her. If it wouldn't had been for her sticking by my side and my family helping us along the way, I could have easily lost everything I have. I do consider myself extremely lucky to have gotten through this without selling anything. And for the record, my girl also refused to let me sell my Stingray lol. She's the one that picked the color out! For now, I'm going to enjoy this weekend. My brother's coming back into town today, so I think him and I are going to break out a little bottle of some Captain Morgans private stock, jam together a little, and do some catching up. I guess it's like they say that when life throws you a bunch of lemons, you make lemonade. I say you add some Everclear to that lemonade and give it some kick!
