Local MM dealer (edmonton, Alberta) only seem to carry signature MM's. Can't even find an albert lee with a humbucker in it. Even an axis is near impossible to locate. The Armada seems a great alternative to a gibson les paul but nobody has one.

Westendrockshop should carry more MM's than the signatures. Isn't hard to get a custom les paul for over $4300 cdn but its kind of funny people pay that for that shoddy product and a cheaper Armada is nowhere to be found.

I used to work at the RockShop for 5 years. Usually it's just JP's, Luke's and Albert Lee's. Avenue Guitars is the only shop I've seen have a it of choice. They're also the only Premier Dealer in the city, so they get the PDN's in stock too. I've found it odd that L&M's are saying even the Majesty is a special order only. I've been wanting to check one out, but I'm not putting a deposit on something I'm not 100% sure about.

Tldr; Shortage of Music-Man guitars in Edmonton. :(

I recall seeing/playing a sunburst Armada at the Long & McQuade in Winnipeg (north location), had a great feel and played great. It may still be there if you're interested.

Same here in the Netherlands, I think there was literally 1 Armada available in the whole country. Luckily I got the chance to try it. Then after some time I got a deal on a trans black one through ebay. No regrets at all, such a great guitar and indeed an alternative to a LP (which I always wanted to have but never got along with).

Maybe try customer service to locate one for you, so you can at least try one.

Naturally, nobody seems to stock the majesty either. The Armada is too risky to order online but I'm okay with the majesty. But the question becomes like how? Is musiciansfriend.com reliable?

I wouldn't order from a U.S. store. At least not while our dollar is in the toilet, plus shipping and Customs charges. That 1500.00 guitar is now over 2000.00.

L&M will charge shipping to bring the requested model to a store near you, assuming they have one in stock somewhere in Canada.

Many will suggest getting in touch with EBMM customer support for dealers here in Alberta as well as through out Canada. Why pay the retail amount in U.S. funds when you can buy the same guitar for pretty much the same retail price, but in Canadian dollars?

Eventually, prices in Canada will go up.

And yeah, I've never seen an EBMM at the L&M here in Fredericton.

I have yet to see an armada in person here in Milwaukee. There is a store called crème city music that has two Majesties in stock as of last Saturday. I finally had a chance for a test spin and boy oh boy the neck is perfect for me. Very nice guitar, now I know when BP released those gorgeous natural wood ones I can with confidence buy one site unseen.

Check http://www.long-mcquade.com for any Music Man guitars they might have through the chain. If this link shows up, there's a used one at the London Ontario store. https://www.long-mcquade.com/?page=...FilterCost=5&DepartmentsID=0&CurrentCount=651

Otherwise, just wait. Good news will happen for Edmonton in 2015.

Agreed .... look in the L&M webpage for the Local Store Specials .... iirc, the Armada is still listed as available @ London location ..... not that I've been looking :) ;)

cheers always,

Joel

Cosmo Music in Markham, ON had an Armada the last time I was there a few months ago and L&M in Brampton have a white Luke II and a tobacco burst Axis currently in stock.

This is all well and good if you live in Ontario where the EBMM guitars flow like wine. Here in the West, it's a little less feast and more famine.

$2200cdn for a used Armada and it just sits there in London? I think I'm going to pass and look for something else. Something tells me the Armada isn't anywhere as good as the MM Axis.

I suspect it has less to do with "as good as [enter guitar here]" than its sticker price. $2200 used vs. $2390 new and you get your choice of colour and that new Ball smell ;)

I would argue that the Armada is much better than the Axis but that's just my opinion.

I just doubt the playability of the instrument. Frankly, its more money that a JP6 mystic dream. I can get a fairly recent used Axis in mint condition for $1000.

I've seen nothing but positive reviews yet its unpopular. Even the friggin Les Paul R9 doesn't get that. Something doesn't add up.

You missed a 2014 Luke III H-S-S that came in used. I bought it for a great price! I think it was only in store for about a day though. :)

If you've never played one, what do you base that on? Seriously. Try it, you might just like it.

We guitarists don't like much out of the ordinary. It takes time for people to try and gel with something new.
