I am the proud owner of 9 Ernie Ball Stingray basses. It's time to treat the necks on several of my basses. I went to the Birchwood-Casey website to order some Gunstock Wax and Tru-Oil, but there is a disclaimer that these products cannot be shipped to California, where I currently reside. Apparently the California Air Resources Board fined Birchwood-Casey $500,000 for volatile chemicals in their products, and as a result they will no longer ship to addresses in California.

Does anyone have any suggestions for products I can substitute in order to treat my bass necks? I've already emailed Ernie Ball Customer Service to see what they suggest. No answer yet. The Music Man factory is in California; how do they get around this prohibition?

Have it shipped to a friend out of state, who can then ship it to you.

I just found it on Amazon.com - their only noted restriction is that they won't ship it to Canada.

I also found it on www.cheaperthandirt.net with no shipping restrictions listed.

Tollie beat me to it -- I was going to suggest buying it on Amazon. Appears to be no restriction on shipping to CA.

Edit: Actually, Amazon does state that it will not ship the gunstock wax to CA addresses. No such restriction on the tru-oil.

I've had some in my wish list on amazon for about 6 months and was just getting ready to place the order...
Will be interesting to see what other products are recommended. .

Just another reason I can't wait to escape kalifornia...
