Thanks for posting here and supporting us by playing our stuff.
First off could you edit your title as it implies that there is a problem with our work.
Now lets think this GC thing through. The bass is nearly 4 years old and you got a discount for being shopworn. You know that it has been played and played a lot. The strings are dead there are nicks and gouges.....With the market being flooded with cheap imported cables these switch tips fall off all the time. It is really hard to expect Guitar Center to know that one came off in your bass. Im just telling the other side. I know that GC doesnt always get it right but this time I think that it unless they install Xray machines they couldnt know that some customer broke a tip off.
Remember the salesmen dont destroy the guitars and basses at GC the customers do."
You are absolutely right!!, sorry the title might have implied anything wrong with MM work.... I have NEVER seen anything less than PERFECTION, in every single MM bass I have ever owned, played, or touched... they are hands down top notch, as are your CS reps... they know how to take care of their customers, and I never have had anything but good feelings towards them, and MM as a whole... fantastic.
As for the GC, you are right, the fact that bass has been either in our store, or at least in their warehouse since 2005, you are right, would suggest that they would probably have had no idea that anything broke off inside of it... unless they picked the instrument up and turned it from upright how it hangs on the wall to sideways... playing position... every time I moved the bass it had a rattle to it, but I didn't notice it inside of the store, in fact, it wasn't until I was in my music room at home I heard it...I guess the ambient noise around drowned it out at the store, or while I was ever playing.
They would have had no idea that anything would have broken off in there, but possibly could have, by checking the instruments a little more often (setup, wipedown, string change etc..) but you are still correct... customers destroy the product not the employees.
But BP you are right, and I apologize if I might have stepped on anyones toes with my last thread.
My original reason for the post at all was to find out what that strange piece coming out of my electronics was, and if I should have been worried. As I have seen many internal electronics, I wasn't familiar with this tip, and it totally didn't occur to me a tip would come out of a cable... in my 16 yrs experience, I have never had it happen... but then again, I baby all my gear.
Thank you for the response from the top of the food chain
I love the fact that you are so involved in your clients as much as you are creating perfection.
Thanks BP, I look forward to getting to know everyone better on this forum.
