Hi everyone,

I have a brand new Stingray special Amethyst. On the first day of delivery, I didn't notice any problems with my awesome new Earnieball Musicman bass. But a day later while practicing I saw, that when the switch on the bass was set to neck position, suddenly the bass stopped working. There was no sound from the bass. There was also no sound from the middle switch position, but strangely the bridge position worked normally. I looked around forums but didn't find such a problem by somebody else. Then I tried to remove the batteries from the preamp and disconnected the audio cable. After 10 minutes I put back the batteries and the bass started to work on all switching positions. But sadly after a few minutes when the switch was set to the neck position, the bass again stopped working. Again only the bridge position worked without a problem. This process was repeated many times. If removing the battery for a few minutes, after putting the batteries back, the bass works for a few minutes again. I also tried to put in brand-new batteries. The situation was the same. After a few minutes of playing on the neck switch position, the bass stops to work.

I'm returning it to Thomann, but I'm curious, has anyone else had this issue? TNX
