Looks very cool, that "tuxedo b/w" combination.
Nice! HS (almost as awesome as HH- I kid!)
I played MINE yesterday, and sometimes owning other models, even EBMM's..
You forget! How BADA** the Bongos are, and how they can make a glissando etc. growl like the Lion King and such.
That bass only exists because my fretless white 5SHp Bongo was shipped as a fretted bass, in error.
Originally, it had an abalone pickguard. And, it lived with me while Musicman built the fretless version I own now.
I remember when it showed back up at the Guitar Center before mmbassplayer grabbed it for the ridiculous price he got it for. If I had been a smarter man, I'd have grabbed it myself and refinished it when it was available.
I'll see if I can find a picture of what it looked like when new 9 years ago.
It's pretty cool how some Bongos rotate among the forumites. My original Dargie was owned by Biker4him, then Strummer, then Bovinehost and then me. I'm glad this white Bongo got to stay among those who really appreciate the power and coolness of the Bongo (5). The white ones are extremely rare and it wasn't easy selling this one. Now I have some breathing room to buy the next special edition Bongo that comes around. I sold a 1973 4001 last year to fund the PDN Bongo, it was worth it!.
