I recently purchased a Sterling By Music Man Majesty 6 Artic Dream. The guitar is beautiful, it has a wonderful sound and it's a joy to play, but the problem comes when I play metal (so I have very high distortion) and you can hear a lot of background noise. However, I noticed that it is not a noise that comes from nowhere but comes above all when I am close to something electronic, such as the PC, the phone, the TV and the amplifier itself even if the volume is quite low and small (12 watts). I'm already using a noise gate but when I stop playing I hear a lot of background noise, and above all I lose important frequencies. I was thinking of a shield to attenuate this annoying noise (which is sometimes very loud and causes loud whistling). Do you recommend taking it to a luthier and having it screened?

If you are wondering, the guitar without distortion has no background noise and not even with low distortion, the guitar even without an amplifier sounds perfect and does not make any noise (I also use an Ernie Ball fretwrap on the headstock to avoid the sound of the strings in the headstock).

Background noise can come from many places, from back springs to headstock, if it's mecanically and as much electronically.
You can always try to dampen each part to eventually find a vibrating one, even pickups.
