All:

For those of you interested, JP and the boys in Dream Theater are gonna have a new album out on the 11th of this month.

Not sure if anyone is aware of this, but DT has posted the track "As I Am", the first track off the album, on their website in mp3 format. I like it, and would hope you would too.

Go check it out if haven't already! www.dreamtheater.net

Later, and sorry for the non EBMM post (though I am safe, since JP is an EBMM artist! :) )

I use to be that way after I saw Steve Morse play. But I stuck with it anyway and even took the time to learn a few of his tunes. Even though I secretly long to here other guitar players say "I can't play that", what I really like to here is "Hey! that's inspirational." So when I play for others or when I see my heroes play, I consider what I am doing, as well as them, to be either intimidating, inspiring, or impressing. You can let it be what ever you choose.

Great response, norm...you should be a motivational speaker. :) I pull myself up by the boot straps, mind you, and don't let it get me down much (otherwise I would have given up the first time I heard EVH!)...but d*mn, that guy just blows me away with his ability!

I really think there's a couple of states that have laws against playing that fast, though. :p

JDouglee, yeah, I noticed immediately that his tone in comparison to previous was completely different; it was only when I paid a visit to his site that I was "enlightened" that he ditched his regular rig for this album. It'll be interesting to hear...
