I am relatively new to EBMM. I have an LIII and a Silo Special. The LIII does everthing that the silo does really. I thought it would be neat to order a pickguard with 2 LIII Transition humbuckers for the silo..kinda making it an LIII by proxy:)? It would save me a ton of bread not getting another LIII and really open up more and better tonal possibilities.

Besides, I am always having to adjust my gain on my rig up when switching from the LIII to the Silo and the pickups on the silo aren't nearly as powerful. Is this possible to order from EBMM or would I have to order the pickups from DiMarzio and get EBMM to send me a pickguard? thanks for any knowledge or experience here.

First, try adjusting your pickups so they are closer to the strings. A small adjustment might make enough difference for you. I did this with my HSH Silhoutte and noticed a bit more gain and sensitivity.

I am sure someone more knowledgeable than I could tell you for sure, but I would bet the answer would be no. I believe the Luke 3 have a preamp for the pickups and would likely not be compatible with the Silo Spec. Although I could be wrong.

BTW, I put a Dimarzio Air Zone in the bridge of my Silo Spec and it's like a whole new guitar! Highly recommend that route.

I put a set of Transitions in my Silhouette this morning. They sound great. They are still HSH. I was planning on changing the pots to 500k, but it sounded so good with the 250s I kept it that way.

I bet they sound great! I'll call customer service tomorrow. I feel pretty sure I'll have to get the pickguard from EBMM and the pickups from DiMarzio. Thanks!

thanks DrKev...been on the phone w/ MM...they confirmed the 500k pot might be a little too harsh for the singles. I may just have to get another LIII !!!! :)
