Well, there is no official rule. We just happen to be rapid EBMM fans and prefer to talk about them exclusively.

However, Big Poppa will tell you that he respects PRS and that they make great guitars. I don't talk about them only because I do not own one. I tried them, they just don't have the "feel" that I get with an EBMM.

Talk about them all you want I say, but be respectful as this is the EBMM forum. Don't start a thread about your F**der problems and what not. You get the meaning. We can all talk tactfully about other brands....it's more of an inside joke to say F**der or Gibby....etc.

Dude, your not stupid. We are just being kind. This forum is owned and operated by EBMM, it's a respect thing that's all.

You can say F*nder or G!bson if you want too.

Enjoy, Glenn |B)

i got other guitars.......

somewhere........

i lose track of where they are though........

56 strat & custom shop firebird......

but they very rarely get used.....
usually in the studio...where it would impress a brainwashed producer. even then....i usually end up using my main ebmm that i always also take......... :D

The open house was an invite for forum members to come to the Music Man factory in San Luis Obispo, California and see how the instruments are made.

Of course, this being a Big Poppa hosted event, it became much more than that (see the "Agenda" threads for the hour-by-hour details in the Special Events forum).

At any rate, I don't think he could pick up the factory and take it to Oz. ;) Australia did have representation at the Open House, though! Rod Trussbroken, bass forum moderator and public defender extraordinaire came all the way from Brisbane!

We also had forumites from Belgium, England, Canada, and diverse places all over the USA. It really was a guitar-wielding "League of Nations"!

Big Poppa spent major coin on the Open House too, so it may have been a once-in-a-lifetime event.. time will tell.. but I don't think it will ever become an annual event.

first off welcome to teh forum dude!

here's my observations as far as other guitars go: like brutha koogs said, people here are rabid ebmm fans - so keep that in mind.

the context is what's really important when talking about other guitars, this is an ebmm board after all. as long as someone doesnt run around saying stuff like "help me with my Strat's action", "this is my 2nd post - wanna buy my Les Paul" or "my old xxxxx is way better than the EBMM I just got" than your probably all good. There's a bunch of "general" forums online for that stuff but something like "I really like my PRS McCarty's neck and was wondering which EBMM had a similar profile" is totally kosher.

This board is pretty chill and the people here are funny and also have lots of great info and the main thing is to keep this a happy internet hangout where we can share info and stories about the EBMM line of products (guitars, basses, wah wahs, strings, picks etc).

Honestly, just have fun buddy :)

Who cares as long as your EBMMs are safe? Aren't the rest just wall ornaments anyway? :D
