There is an addon to vBulletin which automatically sends a private message on the forums whenever a moderator does something that affects a user - like moving/closing/deleting a thread. So no, personal notes are not required

On the F/S thread rules or the EBMM content rules I always send a note, or they'll just go "ooh my thingy's gone. I better repost it..." and then I get to moderate the same thing twice or three times...
...of course I get in the neck then. "Whaddya mean I can't sell my plexicaster here? JERK!"

Jeez guys - put yourself in the shoes of a Mod.
I was asked to keep an eye on things - only the once when mods were away for the weekend - It really makes you (now the mod) look at things a whole lot differently.
Big thanks to all the Mods here who do an excellent job in keeping this place clean.
