I'm not too impressed with a lot of the bands I've*** seen with MM basses lately. Or Spector or whatever else I can think of. I'm just not impressed with any of the bands in general. But I do know that a good % of players that I really do respect play MM's a good deal of the time, like Justin Chancellor, a personal favorite of mine. When I saw Chevelle's bassist playing MM I had to wonder if he was going for a similar sound... at least subconsciously. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Funny I thought chancellor used a Wal Bass.. Personally I dont care much for modern radio myself but every once in a while a new rock band will catch my ear that I really like and chevelle happens to be one of them. :D

I stand corrected Chancellor did use a mm bass for a while then switched to playing Wal basses during the anemia recording.

I reckon I saw the bassist from Switchfoot with a similar finish on a Sterling in the "Dare You to Move" (?) music video.

Yeah to me Levin is one of the first people that truly showed people what a MM bass is capable of doing. That man can milk any sound you can imagine from a MM bass.

I've seen in CD:UK quite a few MM basses, BUT actually you can't hear the bass AT ALL. Not to mention that in most music shows here they have a particular habit of never showing the bass player on the camera. Only the singer and the guitar player.

I saw the video of Ashlee Simpson on SNL where she walked off stage, and her bass player played a sterling.. Not that anyone cares what Ashlee Simpson's bass player plays... Probably got fired now anyway.
