So I pulled the trigger on a G-System. Not really a pedalboard per se, but you get the idea. Haha. Got a killer deal on it, and after 2 days of trying to hook it up (the manual is written poorly, and TC's customer service with this type of thing isn't too good) I finally figured out how to run it with my IIC+ using the 4 cable method. The first thing I did when I got it was skimmed through the manual, and then hooked the unit up to my Macbook Pro and downloaded the latest software. So after that, I figured out how to hook it up and this thing sounds amazing. The chorus/reverbs/delays are especially killer and I can't really tell of too much (if any) tone coloring going on like people have described. Also, I've read on forums that the unit is noisy. Mine is dead quiet. I also downloaded the Mac Editor, and made some presets today. I've got my typical Clean with Chorus/Delay/Reverb, Crunch, Crunch with Chorus/Delay, and my Lead patches. This unit is killer, and I'll be doing a small demo of it over the weekend probably. Here are the pics:

Congrats Phil on getting the G system.i too am looking at getting one to compliment my amp and control my channels and make some presets also.
Versatility is my ultimate aim with my rig so hopefully i will be able to get one soon.

Phil would love if you would post a video explaining how it works and give us a listen of its range tones.

Nice!

Are these just time/modulation effects?

I don't keep up to speed with these new-fangled devices, I'm just a simpleton with electronic thingies!

Thanks for the comments guys. Its a killer unit.

Jimmyb: The G-System does phasers, flangers, choruses, delays, reverbs, pitch, whammy, detune, etc.

Congrats on the score. I was a LONG time G-Major user and I went to the Nova System when that came out too. I was very impressed with it, but at the end of the day I needed to simplify so its no longer in my rig, but TC effects are wonderfully pristine.

Did you see the video of the tank running over the G System and it still function? (Yes, I did say tank. :D ) Youtube it!

Great choice, Phil! I used a G-System for a long time. The effects are some of the best out there. It just ended up being too much for me. There was a ton of stuff I didn't use and never would...so I sold mine.

Now I'm rocking a Nova Delay, a couple OD pedals, and an EB Wah.

Yeah, I saw the video with the tank a while back. Haha. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Thats cool, Brad. I had a ND a little while back and they sound killer. The only thing I didn't like about the Nova was the process to switch presets. For me, it wasn't quick enough. Especially if I was doing a gig. The thing I love about the G-System is being able to switch however many functions/presets/etc. on and off by pressing only one button.

I'm thinking about getting a G-major 2 and a nice pedalboard to go with it. Basically the same. I love the sound of TC effects. I know Steve Vai uses G-system and Petrucci uses some TC gear as well.

Congrats on a fabulous piece of gear. Now we need some videos demoing your gear. Dargie, IIC+, TC . Now that's an almighty combination.

I do have some videos up demoing my Dargie II with my IIC+, as well as my main clean patch that I use from my G-System. I'll be posting more G-System videos this weekend. Check em' out here: YouTube - petruccirocks02's Channel
