Saw Flying Colors last night. Great show which I just don't have time to post a review of right now. Maybe someone else can pop in.

But the great thing is that Steve played the old No. 1 all night. It's got a new neck and a new bridge on it but the same body, same pickups, same silicon gel around the neck pickup, same worn down to the wood and peeling paint.

It does have some new holes in it as Steve had to install a new bridge to mate up with the new neck and he had to drill new holes in the body. He evidently mis-drilled them the first time and had to re-do it. For anyone who knows Steve...that's exactly what he'd do. Grab a hand drill and start drilling.

The neck had to be custom made because the neck pocket on No. 1 is no longer a normal size. There's some discussion of that subject in other posts.

Got to meet Travis Larson and Jennifer Young in the crowd. What a friendly bunch! Whole 'nother subject. Would love to write more but I gotta gig tonight and need to start loading the pickup.

That's cool! I'm in love with the custom color of his replacement.
Also a recent new big fan of TLB ... they ROCK!

I caught them last night at the Chicago show - and that's definitely #1!

He said the original neck is being repaired and is expected to be put back on the original body. I'm guessing that would be yet another refret...

there was also the blueeburst one in the background - the one with the maple top and back (I think) and the white pickguard. The one that was discussed as a very early Y2D proto?!?
Edit: here's the pic

I'm not sure if that is the Y2D prototype. I don't think so.

He didn't play that guitar at all. It stayed in the stand all night long. Only played #1.

I just hope that if they finish the original neck, Steve doesn't breakout the drill to re-do the bridge again.

Great...looking forward to seeing no 1 again on Oct 13 in London.

Everytime I see no 1 it's like meeting an old friend now Steve has had it so long
Imagine how many playing hours that poor ol' thing has stood up to all these years ! Testament to a well made guitar methinks !!

YUP - caught the Chicago show too - seeing #1 was a great added surprise, but hearing here that the original neck is coming back is pretty cool too.

Oh, and nice pic, Kevin!

Great pic, Kevin. And, vinbow's live shots are spectacular!

It's amazing to hear that they are resurrecting no.1's neck.

Kevin: Hey who does your hair Steve?
Steve: I was just going to ask you the same thing.

Hi all, did anybody has or find better picture which shows what was mentioned above? About the new holes drilled. For me it seems no new drilling. The hole/grove in pickguard is from hex pickup for synth. This just my opinion.
