Hey all, I haven't posted here in a while, since I had to sell my Stingray :( . Anyways I'm getting back into owning a Musicman and couldnt be happier. No more financial issues. Anyway I'm planning on ordering a Sterling. Now I know the new 2 pup models are coming out soon but I had my heart set on a single pup one. Now heres my question, I recall seeing a post somewhere that all new MM's were going to have the compensated nut like on the bongos. Is this something thats going to be coming out this year along with the introduction of dual pickups? or is it not coming out yet? the reason I ask is that I was going to order an in stock bass from basscentral but if I the new ones are going to have the new nut I'll gladly hold off till those come out. Thanks a bunch.

Yes they all will be coming with the compensated nuts. At the open house we could see Stingrays they were finishing up and it was about 50/50 between comp. vs. non-comp. nut, so it looks like the changeover has been made.

i could be wrong but i dont think i am - i think i read that on the board (maybe the guitar side) a month or so ago

Well, in about 2 weeks or so, everything shipping out of SLO will have the compensated nut on it. They are currently shipping out the last of the old style nuts.

I made sure to ask about this on the tour, because more than a few people have asked me.

Check the pics ;)

These (in production) all have comp nuts

While these (finishing stages) do not
