Follow up on the dealer locator...

if you click on the name of the dealer it gives you a stock list, or more specifically a list of what's been sent to them. AFAIK it's up to the dealer to update the list if an instrument sells.

DuBaldo Music is up in the middle of CT. A day trip for sure and well worth it to support a forum regular, but there are several dealers closer to Manhattan and a few in Manhattan itself.

New Jersey Guitar and Bass, across the river, has a large stock. Never been there, but I've heard good things about them.

I would love to take a day out to visit DuBaldo but the weekend is for my wifes birthday so she wont look kindly on me if i ditch her for a day  Are there any major fashion outlets in Conneticut? ;)

Guitar Center on 14th street almost always has a few EB's in. They had a JP in about two weeks ago. I played it myself. No one on "music row" on 48th street ever has any, so don't bother going there. If you're looking for some Axis guitars to try out, just come over! It looks like you have that covered.

Guitar Center at 25 W. 14th St. is the only place to find inventory if you have to stay in Manhattan. As of last week they had a JP, Luke, Silo 20th, and at least 2 ASS on the wall.

Rudy's on 48th is a dealer but only has bass stock. Matt Umanov on Bleeker in the Village is also listed as a dealer, but I have never seen guitar stock there either.

After that you get into outer boroughs and suburbia. If shopping is an issue you want to head out to the GC on Rte 4 in Paramus New Jersey - The Land of the Mall :D

+1 - Rudy's used to stock a couple, but no more. I've never seen a MM guitar at Matt Umanov's. GC all the way.

On the several occasions I have been in Manny's they always seem to have an Axis in there. Might be worth checking, though I think they only carry s/h stock.

Manny's would only have something used if they took it for a trade. It would be very hit and miss to find an MM there. Same across the street at Sam Ash (which actually owns Manny's now). Neither place had one as of last week aand they don't deal new.
