Hi. I have an SR5 that I bought second hand, and it came with Schallers on it. Not a problem in itself, I've already changed to the straplock system of my choice, but those little nylon washers that sit between the strap button and the body were missing.

I thought it would be easy to find correctly sized nylon washers on fleabay, but there's just too much to choose between, and some dimensions are stated in millimeters and some in inches, so I'm scratching my head here. Does anybody know where to find the right washers online?

After all:

:D

Btw, the outer diameter is approx. 12.7 mm (1/2"), I think.

when did EBMM start using those? My SR5 came with them, and still has them, but if the SR4 ever had them, they are long gone.

I've never found any source for those. Other mfg. use a felt-like "washer" in there. I did, once, cut up an old t-shirt as a make-shift felt-style washer. Not proud of that, but we do what we must.

the thing is, the plastic washers used by EBMM on the upper strap button are actually shaped to match the curve of the upper horn. you'd have to sand down a flat washer.

Yes, I have a couple on my EBMM basses' upper horns that have the curve. Maybe it's a newer model feature.

that's how the ball rolls these days. That's shipping, and handling. Probably easier to order some other stuff with it. I may see if they can throw some in with my SR5 when it comes back to put onto my SR4.

Available via EBMM CS for .10 apiece, and a minimum $7.50 shipping charge. Thanks, A.J.!

That's great news! Only the best for my Stingray. But I can't seem to find it on the website. Do you have a link, or an email address I can write to?

I hope they ship internationally.

Thanks for the suggestion. I contacted Ernie Ball Customer Service via the web contact form instead, as I didn't want to confuse them by beaming my thick Scandinavian accent half way across the globe. :)

No kidding! Couldn't you just stick a couple in an envelope with a stamp?

Yeah, you or I could do that if we had spares, sure.

But, we don't have to a) track inventory and pay for the space being used to store the items, b) pay someone to answer the phone or answer the emails, c) pay the phone bill to cover the 800 number charges for all of the various calls whether they result in a sale or not, d) set the customer up in the system and fill out the invoices, e) pay associated fees for processing a credit card, etc. It takes the same amount of time and manpower to box up 2 10 cent washers as it does to pack up any other item. And, every sale has a cost associated with it before you even get to the cost of the items you are buying.

If it was simply the cost of 2 washers and a stamp, how many people would say, "Heck, for a dollar, I should get a couple of those to throw in the gear toolbox--just in case?" Or, pickguard screws. Or, input jacks. You could have someone spending a day doing nothing buy sending out envelopes of washers at a buck a pop. Not a real good ROI. At some point, you have to set a minimum to cover all of the various things beyond the price of simply the item in question.

Hmmm... I've seen no reply from Ernie Ball Customer Service yet. Maybe I should write to Music Man Customer Service instead?

(Those are two of the options from the contact form. It is not possible to select "Ernie Ball Music Man Customer Service".)

Since you didn't contact them until a Friday, I'd wait a little bit since I can't imagine they have people checking email over the weekend.
