Jeff, you describe sound as “punchy”? Is it similar to the PDN runs with mahogany bodies... a little fatter/warmer than basswood? Or does the Koa top add a different flavor than Mappe and Mahogany mix?

...been eyeballing one of these myself!

Unrelated to this guitar, what happened to the Axis that the seller had taken the hole saw to? I thought you bought that one with some nefarious plan, or am I remembering that wrong?

Ah... good question -- you are keeping a close eye on me!

That guitar's makeover isn't done (honestly, not really started except for some planning work). Hopefully it'll be in the 2019 NYNGD!
