Welcome to Day 12 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!

Thanks for the kind words and comments on NYNGD #2021-11!

Alright... so I laid it on pretty thick last time. That we were in the final 6 and all of them were awesome. And that they're all so cool that the stunning Roasted Amber Quilt Axis was able to go before them...

So... I dunno, I guess some of this is in the eye of the beholder. Today's guitar is awesome, no doubt. True, it doesn't have a mindblowing quilted top. But it's a Dargie Delight II. Yep! A Luke II in this awesome low-production special package. Wait, Jeff, this is your third Luke II in 2021! Are you changing your mind about Luke II's? Nope, I always thought they were great, but in 2021 awesome examples just kept popping up!

So, yes, the Dargie Delight II. The finish is awesome. It's also a pain to photograph (especially if you don't use a flash). Because from one angle it's a satisfying pearl green, and from another angle it's a rusty gold. Hence the color name - Caramel Apple Delight. But sometimes it's hard to get both colors to pop together!

Combine the Caramel Apple Delight with an ebony fretboard, white pearl with paua abalone insert inlays, an EBMM masterpiece birdseye maple neck, and the EMG pickups that I always want to hate but end up loving!

This guitar is like brand new except for literally 1.5 square inches on the front of the guitar where a previous owner must have been in a punk pop band and his picking did a number on the clear. Could probably be buffed out, but I'm too lazy (because I think you'd need to remove at least the two single coils to do it).

The neck has a fairly pronounced LII V-profile but I've resisted taking the sander to it!

Honestly I haven't played this one much since I got it, but this week it's been in my office while I was editing the photos and it got some good play time through my Quad Cortex. Digging it. Photos don't do it justice.

I'll be back soon with another NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day! We're getting closer! Only 4 left from 2021's run! Thanks for looking everyone!

Past Days:
The new EBMM message board limits the number of characters in a post so I can't put a list of direct links in the post. Click here for an index.

(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. :) The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)

(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)

that is beautiful! Like you, I love the EMG's I was sure I was gonna hate. And like yours, mine has a very pronounced V that I thought I would hate too and yet...and yet...
