Welcome to Day 15 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!

Thanks for the kind words and comments on NYNGD #2021-14!

THE. FINAL. TWO.

Yep, here we go again.

"Jeff. WTH?!? Another opaque finish in the final days?!?"

"Boo! No quilt top?!?"

"No way this is better than [FILL-IN-THE-BLANK]!"

"Holy crap! Another Luke 2?!?" OK, this one is valid -- that's 4 Luke 2's in 2021. Before 2021, I had only purchased ONE Luke 2 ever. So... it looks like 2021 was indeed a Luke 2 year.

So, what's going on here? For me, this is one of the coolest EBMM runs ever. This was the first Premier Dealer Network offering back in 2011. And I wanted one badly, but for whatever reason at the time I didn't pull the trigger. Fast forward 10 years and one came on the market and I swooped in!

Not gonna lie, this is another of those pearlescent finishes that just POPS! It isn't a flip-flop finish like the Dargie Delight II, but still it has undertones of orange or yellow depending on the angle. It works REALLY WELL on a Luke 2's contours!

Then, of course, there's the all rosewood neck and fingerboard. Feels amazing. Sounds amazing. Plays amazing.

Anyone who disagrees that this deserves a Top 5 finish has to fight me...

So... ARE YOU READY FOR THE GRAND FINALE?!? Soon my friends, soon! I'll be back in a few days with the final NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day! Thanks for looking everyone!

Past Days:
The new EBMM message board limits the number of characters in a post so I can't put a list of direct links in the post. Click here for an index.

(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. :) The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)

(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)

Jeff, another great snag that run was awesome and I saw that on Reverb if that's where you got it from.

Very nice. The orange looks great with the rosewood neck.

Wow! Ok that's a special one- I have to say I'm extremely partial to that finish. The video Luke & Morse playing their guitars in that finish- must have watched that dozens of times. Nice work!

Whoaa, like it! The finish soemtimes has an ever so small hint of the color Autumn Red Rise. And the adrkish neck/headstock is just perfect for the finish. Looks so classy!

Heyyyyy… I have one of those! It's a fantastic color in person and a very special Luke indeed! I was thinking about pinging you if you were interested in mine, but I'm still waffling on if I want to keep it…

Man, that was a great run. I wanted one also and I came *THIS* close to getting one from Reverb a couple of years back but the seller ended up pulling the listing and decided not to sell!
Looks fantastic!!

To me, the True Gold Luke was the best Luke II. The look, the feel, the sound were all great. I only sold mine after acquiring some LIIIs and realizing there was no going back to any Luke II for me.
