Happy Holidays and Happy New Year, everyone! Welcome to Day 1 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!

OK, guys and girls (...are there any women here? If so, welcome! Let us know you're here below!). Off we go on what has become an annual tradition! Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day as we ring in 2022! Unfortunately, I'm getting a late start this year -- I should have started on December 13th in order to launch one guitar per day until the grand finale on New Year's Eve! SLACKER! But better late than never! I'm going to need to double-up -- two per day... got my work cut out for me!

Before we begin: In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. :) The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!

Even though I set out to roll easy this year, GAS took hold as always and I again bought too many guitars. Some new, some used, all EBMM!

This year's first guitar is a cool and relatively rare 1997 Axis with a pickguard that I bought from fellow Forum Knucklehead Slick64. Typically the ones with pickguards are all Axis Sports or Super Sports, but this is a big-daddy Floyd Rose equipped Axis with a pickguard. I love the cream pickguard that matches the knob and cream bobbins on the pickups. This guitar, in opaque black with its pickguard is classy and a bit quirky, too. I also love that this one has the recessed neck plate (although I didn't photograph it).

This guitar sounds great and is quintessential Axis.

There you go, folks! Another guitar coming later tonight!

Past Days:
The new EBMM message board limits the number of characters in a post so I can't put a list of direct links in the post. Click here for an index.

(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. :) The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)

(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)

Bit late to the party this year (happy new one by the way, to everyone!).

That one is totally to my liking! I am by no means a fan of black guitars, but together with the cream pickguard, binding and knob - just gorgeous!!!
