Heh, just thought I'd try the power trip there. ;)

Seriously, norm did make mention previous to the official announcement from Derek (which I was waiting for before opening my trap) that I am officially a moderator for this group effective today.

What does this mean? It means I do what I can to keep you rabble rousers in line. ;) Nah, seriously, it's about spreading the love for the EBMM line, and helping in any way that I can to direct folks in the right direction for information regarding guitars, strings, and where to find the cheap beer.

I'm excited to take on this new role, and I thank Derek for the consideration placed upon me. It really means a lot to be given this privilege. I plan to use the same method of attack here as I do at work: I don't know all the answers, and if I don't know the answer, I'll direct you to someone/something that does. I guess you could say that that's the mantra of the board anyhow, so let's get to it.

Now, you people start shining up those pixels. It better be done when I get back later today, or you eat with the dogs. ;)

Take care guys, and thanks for the warm sentiments on my new "position".

Milky, all good, man. Thanks for the sentiment, but no I'm not a spy. :)

Funny you should mention Fender HQ; door to door from here to the business park where they are located is about a mile and a half. Close enough range for a Stinger, don't ya think? ;)

Well as a rocket scientist I must reply to this comment. The stinger is traditionally a surface to air missile. For it to be effective you would have to get the target in the air. That would be impractical. The most efficient method I can think of would be to strap on one of those EVH models and with your 5150 set at its lowest resistance setting, push your 6166 to the full forward position. This should generate a maximum sound pressure level. Then experiment with different frequencies. Take the time to try generating different frequencies in different orders with varying time intervals. Also try generating multiple frequencies at one time. I think this will achieve the desired effect.

Surface to air, which means that it would go down->up...got it.

What if I hung myself upside down from the roof, and aiming in that direction, and the same amount of trajectory heading and angle, fired one off? Answer that one, Scientist Boy. ;)

OK, I'm the mod...this is not typical behavior that should be observed. I'll stop now (though it could be technically justified as preferring EBMM over other brands?). :)

Answer that one, Scientist Boy.
From your description it appears that you would be aiming at the floor. Depending on the launch power, impact energy and distance from you to the impact plane, I think this would be an effective suicide move. But hey, you are the moderator and your judgment is not to be questioned. Again I think the description I gave in the earlier post would achieve the most desirable results. But hey! You are the master…master. I love science. Got any questions on Snell's law? I can actually make Snell's law apply to Ernie Ball Music Man guitars.

OK, I'm the mod...this is not typical behavior that should be observed.
Look moderator boy. You just keep checking the posts for spelling and grammar. Occasionally post a link to the MM FAQ or come up with a factiod that reaffirms all our guitar geek nature. While you're at it, I think Derek needs a sandwich. See to that will you?

Disclaimer: I love Darrell and the idea of him being a moderator for this board. On the Bass boards things were happening that made the decision to add self-moderators a wise prudent choice (IMO). I also think it was a great idea to add that feature to this board as well. Darrell is ultra qualified for this position. His responses and posts have always been correct and informative. I realize this forum is not here to be the norm comedy hour nor do I desire it to be. Humor in language is just a part of my personality. I often add this aspect of myself to my posts. This forum has allowed me to do this in the past and for that I thank all of you. Generally, I try to make myself the butt of my jokes. But from time to time I might be inclined to pick on someone else. These "jabs" are only meant to be entertaining and are not meant to be taken seriously. Mind you moose bites can be pretty nasty.
Sincerely,
William H. Taft

norm, you're a riot, man...actually busted out laughing hard, and caught the eye of a few people around me at work because of it (I work in a call center).

However, you spelled my name wrong...twice (I see that you have now corrected the err of your ways, thanks! :)). That's the "big red button" you don't want to push...otherwise, free game.

Can I get you anything else, Mr. Taft, or will just the check be sufficient? :p
