Received my Bongo yesterday. It is awesome! I only had a few minutes to snap some pics today and then it was off to do some recording. Carbon Blue Pearl is an incredibly difficult finish to photograph, and I am not a very good photographer, but it is a very nice-looking finish. I think the HS is the configuration I should have gotten the first time around. I don't find it "polite" or "reserved" as some have said about the HS before. I actually think the neck single-coil is really snarly compared the neck humbucker on the HH I used to own, which was really bassy. I guess I would say that it's just as aggressive as the HH IMO, but in a slightly different way. Of course, with that onboard EQ, you could probably make either one sound very similar to the other if you knew what you were doing. Still the "flat" tone of the HS is more to my liking so far than the "flat" HH tone was and I'm really happy with it. It recorded wonderfully and had no problems cutting a very busy mix. As a side note, I had forgotten how gigantic the pickups are on these basses, in both size and tone! :D Here are some pics:

nice score.

I just recently got my first bongo... and had never played one before purchasing it.

words can't describe the amazing / awesome/ super duper-ness of it. I love it.
