My SR5 came today!! Thanks to Rex for selling it too me! It is a beautiful instrument! Its autumn redburst with a rosewood fretboard. Ill post pic's soon, I'm waiting on my white pick guard to come in before I take pic's. It sounds great! I'm done trading off my MM basses as Ive now owned for a short period of time every single bass Ive ever wanted to own and have come back home. And its great to be sporting an MM bass again!!

ok ok Here is a pic of how it currently looks with a black pg. Photo courtesy of Rex (silverburst)

Travis told me that photo's really don't do this color justice, and he's right its even more beautiful in person, however I will post some outdoor pics once I get the white pg on it. (Again thanks to Jack for sending me one!!) Im keeping a vigil eye out for the mail carrier, shes too lazy to get out of her car and deliver something that wont fit in the mailbox and Im gonna be really upset if I catch her trying to cram an SR5 pick guard into ours.

Looks pretty much okay, though I agree I should like it a lot more with the white pg on. To each his own, I personally don't like sparkle finishes that much, but I must acknowledge that autumn redburst looks pretty much better in person than on any pic.

Congrats again, John.

Man Travis, I sure hope mine looks as good with the white PU/PG combo, that black pu/tort guard combo looks sweet! Man I cant wait till my new guard gets here! The pics that Travis has presented is the closest representation of this particular finish that I have seen. Again Ill try to take some of my on as soon as I get her new pickguard on her. Ive been playing her for a couple of hours now trying to get my 5 string abilities back up again, boy I sure have missed some of those positions you can play in with a 5 stringer!

Well Ive had this bass a couple of days now and I gotta say there's something special about this one, I usually have to do some kind of neck adjustments when a bass arrives, but I haven't had to touch this one yet! The only thing I did was lower the action on the D and G strings a bit and she was good to go!! I cant wait to take this thing on a gig!!

This thing is awesome as of course SR5 fans know. After experimenting with dual PU MM basses I really think the single H is for me. It does everything I ever wanted a bass to do. Again thanks so much to Jack for sending me not one but 2 pickguards to pic the best of the 2 from. He's a great guy!! On a side note to in effect "pay it forward" I now have a black and a spare white pickguard that Ill send to whoever needs one for the cost of shipping. Shoot me a PM if you want one.

Dang, if that isn't just one of the prettiest finishes EVER.

If I'd had one thing to trade or the money in the bank, John, you would never have had a shot at that one. Ask Rex! I was pining over that one purdy good!

I'm glad it's in the family. And I kind of like those single H deals myself.

Looks great, John, looks really great. Enjoy it.

I'd give you dibs, but Ive definitely traded off my last MM, Ive tried everything Ive ever wanted to try and there is nothing better than a MM bass!! Plus I really REALLY like this one. Of the four SR5's Ive had this one is the best! I normally wouldnt say this to anyone, but jack Im glad you were broke!!

Man I'm really digging rediscovering the tonal possibilities with the SR5!! I can't decide if I'm a series guy or a parallel guy. I like the open sound you get with the series setting, (you can crank it up and get that Doug Pinnick tone) or the parallel setting which is a lot more compressed sounding and tight. That plus you have the eq to get a cross between the two!! I'm know I'm beating a dead horse here and this has been discussed a billion times, but had to take a break as the baby is having a nap time and don't want my wife killing me if I wake him up. This is the 4th SR5 Ive so its not like I haven't went through this before. Its just amazing the possibilities this single PU bass can give you!
