A couple weeks ago, I was on vacation in California. Before our trip, I thought I would see if a my favorite players would be playing anywhere while I was there.
Well low and behold, Jazz Ministry, with Michael Landau, Laboriel Sr. and Jr. and Mathieson are having an album release party at The Baked Potato. I promptly ordered tickets and got to finally be in the same room with one of my heros. Just fantastic.
Then I get back and I am driving to work and there is a commercial for Milwaukee's Summerfest that is just going through a bunch of bands to be featured on the classic rock stage. Whoa did they say Toto? No, can't be. I get to work scramble through some web pages, "CONFIRMED" Toto July 9th here in Milwaukee playing at a stage that is free for all general admission.
Crossing July 9th off the calander right away.
Finally I will get to see LUKE/Toto live.
I tried to get to see Scott Henderson at La Va Lee while I was in California but the schedule was wrong. He must of had to cancell or something. I drove almost two hours to see him and oopppss, he was not playing. Some other group with Scott Kinsey from Tribal Tech with some other guy playing the flute. Not really my thing so we did not stick around for that.
Landau and Luke, how cool!
