I’ve been gassin’ for a Big Al since they came out and kept waiting for the right one to present itself. I saw this 4 stringer yesterday and I fell in love. To quote Austin Powers, she’s dead sexy. The color scheme looks like an old ’64 Chevy I had back in the day. I should have it in my hands this week, right before my hernia surgery. I’m looking forward to a long recovery at home with this sitting on my lap (I’ll have to wait a few weeks to wear it…)

More pictures once she arrives.

To quote Austin Powers a second time... "Very switched-on baby!"

I'm not a huge fan of red, but that is a thing of beauty in red...

I admit to internet-stalking your bass!

Congratulations!

My incoming bass is:

Big Al 5 single H
Candy Red
white pearloid pickguard
matching headstock
rosewood

Even though yours is a 4-string SSS model with a maple fretboard, I printed that picture of your bass to attach to my "Big Al 5 single H fund jar." I've continually been looking at the on-line pictures of your bass; it helped to convince me that I made the right color choice; your new bass is beautiful.

Have a speedy recovery!

Thanks everyone. I had not expected to pick one up for another year but it was lust at first sight. I could only stalk it overnight... I've been eying a few Big Al's around town and never found a color that sparked me. I loved the feel and tone of the Big Al but had not seen a beauty like this one. My addiction/collection is almost complete - might have to find a Sterling one of these days...
