here is the deal:
i have a chance at buying the only bfr redwood that made it to scandinavia (at least through the proper distribution channel ;))

its a single h with the electronics front mounted so it has the electronics plate...

meself, im a tigerstriped flamemaple, rearmounted, double h kind of guy..

would you even consider buying the bfr even if its not love at first sight????

im stuck! id really like to buy it, but at the same time my mind screams hh, hh, hh, hh and no "banana plate" !!!!

and of course my wallet screams nooooo, but im not gonna listen to the poor excuses it makes ;)

i say that is one you dont buy personally but make a friend go buy it.

im with you. no frontmounted electronics and the fact that your questioning it shows youre not all about it. if you buy it now chances are your gonna be looking to sell it in a few months and will surely take a loss.

but if the price is right i'd talk a friend into it. its a rare find at a decent price and you can still have visitation of it. thats just what id do but i would not purchase it myself as cool as it may be:D

I'm kind of with you on this one. The Single H is a beautiful wortk of art, but I would prefer the HH or HS (if available) without the plate.Still no shame having the single H....

Man I really like the single H as well!
I don't mind the control plate. It looks cool. (that's what I think) ;)

But hey it's YOUR money!

You'd be buying a rare piece - in every sense of the word "rare". Rare wood. Rare guitar.

Redwood is an amazing tone-wood. If you pick up the redwood tops, and give them a little flick, you can hear the wood ring.

Beautiful - in every sense of the word "beautiful".

If you don't really like it then would be an "investment". But not in the current economic situation. Bass prices on the used market are constantly falling; if you don't intend to keep it ten years or more, you'll probably take a huge loss.

Anyway, I never buy basses as an investment but because I want to have them.

Really, the only one? EM just brought that ONE to scandinavia? And now it's in Norway? Well I guess you guys have more money than us haha

But I would skip the deal, special as the bass may be, cause you already know it's not really what you want. I bought a bass like that a while ago, and I finally talked some dumb-ass into trading it for a bass I really want:D

I say go try it out, if you fall in love with how it feels/sounds then buy it, if not, don't and try and find one of the hh models, or something similarly spectacular :)

The single H SR4's are my favorite of all EBMM basses. I love the "bananna" plate. Think it looks right at home on the redwood BFR's. JOSH

Guess what...maybe Dargie can answer this...But just for giggles I ordered that exact bass as my redwood. It is cool and I dont thimk we made more than a few. That being said I will probably never gig with it (because I have no gigs, thats another story)

I just decided that I didnt have a two band and was feeling nostalgic.
