OK I just called the local Music Store and they have a JP 7, with the piezo bridge, for like1700 CDN. They take trade ins and give you 80% of what they will sell it for. I was thinking of trading a Sub and a Silo or my Washburn 7...ARGGGGHHHH what should I do...I'm freaking here?

Dude, you should check it out and make sure it's a fine specimine first.

But otherwise, well, you do have 2 subs but personally I'd lose the washburn.

Whatever you do, don't sell the couch! :D

Good luck.

Selling your wife is only illegal if you get caught! ;-)

I'd sell the Washburn without a doubt! I use to have one and they don't quite shine. The only thing is you probably won't get a$ much on your trade it as you would if you traded the EBMM.

Raz,

Give 'em some money to hold the JP7, then sell what you must on eBay or something.. that way you get 100% of the money, not 80%. I think they'll hold the guitar for you if you plunk down a few bucks.

I hate trading guitars. I always end up missing the one that got away. Selling is a different matter. I can usually justify selling something. evilBay or even the forums here may be a better way to get the money for the JP7. As long as you're going to part with an EB you might as well get 100% of the sale rather than 80%.

Don't sell the silo. That you will regret. What color and options are on your silo? What color is the Pet?

No fears boys the deal didn't go down...here's why:

Man I don't know what these music guys do there all day, no offense to those that work at one but if I worked there I would try and at least set up the higher end guitars to within a reasonable playable action, not freakin 3/8" off the frets. Here I was, after reading how you JP guys whined about 1/16" action, I was thinking WOW I can't wait to play one. Well you could just imagine my face when I held the thing in my hands and tried to play...dang some 2 year old started to cry! I just couldn't justify trading in my guitars that are set up so that even a child can play them for a guitar that I could not play...I couldn't tell if I liked the JP, I couldn't play it...I'm serious...plus I think the neck is a bit thin for my liking...oh and there was no piezo. Sorry, and to top it all off, there was a SWEET Axis, with the most beautiful flamed birdseye EVER and you'll never guess what...1/2" action...no I'm serious, it was like those old acoustics you find in the dump...sure I know I could have taken either of them home, shown them some love and turned them into fine shredders...but it just didn't feel right...now here's the kicker. There were 3 or 4 Sub1's there, and all of them had WAY better action than the Pet...in fact some kid was looking to buy a Korean F&*%^$, and I say..." Hey kid, come here. I'll let you in on a great secret" Now while the Korean piece of driftwood was only 600.00 "cough, cough" CDN, the Sub1 was around 750.00 or so...well last time I looked up the driftwood was still there, the Sub1 wasn't hangin on the wall and the kid was seling his soul to pay for his new AXE! All in all it was a good day!

Raz my man, you need to truck yourself down my way sometime. Heck, I'd even close the store for your privacy, or open on a Sunday for you - And you would be able to crank the Soldanos as loud as you want. :) I've got about 4 SUB 1s and (in 2 weeks) 7-8 Petrucci models - all at EB factory specs for action. The thing is, they are ALL calling your name and begging for you to take them home - especially the SUBs! - I do have a nice Benji Madden model here in Textured black w/ black pickguard  This thing sounds pretty /v\etal !!!

Thats no good Raz, the Petrucci isn't for everyone, lucky you didn't do a trade in.

Good going on turning that kid away from the dark side, for an extra 150, he could of had a great guitar.
