BTW, when I was but a young guppy, I was deployed with a crusty old PO1 who had been in Panama for some years prior. I knew he'd been in the Navy too long when he was telling me about a storm they'd had in Panama.
"There was a coconut palm just outside my window", he said, "and the wind was so strong that it fell over with all the coconuts still onboard."
I guess, in retrospect, I should have been impressed that he didn't call the window a 'porthole'.
