I just need to vent with excitement...
I was watching the videos online from my band's killer show the other night at the Vinyl @ Center Stage in Atlanta and it always impresses me how godly my Musicman Stingray bass sounds in hard rock music. I generally play with a pick and boost the treble and bass on the Stingray and get all my mids from my amp. I just love the clackity clack with the thump I can get. It really keeps everything heavy when my guitarist goes into a lead. I just cannot imagine playing any other kind of bass. My jazz basses never were able to cut through and I never really liked the tone very much at all anyways. I just don't think my band sounds right anymore without a Stingray bass carrying the bottom end.
