This is the Axis I've been searching for, and some twit let a bunch of sweaty metalheads at it with magic markers!

Axis Sport H/S/S on evilBay

I'd buy this guitar in a heartbeat if it was clean... There oughta be a law!

I once had my Axis autographed by Rolf Harris (who you may ask!?!?!) The autograph started to fade and I managed to polish it out . I would imagine you could do the same with this one?

You could try some fingernail polish remover...heh heh. :p

Wouldn't lighter fluid loosen up the marker? Just a thought...one of the few remaining in my worn-out-for-the-week mind! :)

If they just used permanant maker, a bit of asohpropyl alcohol will remove it. The guitar would be great minus all the graffiti.

Maybe I should tell him to take some nailpolish remover to the signatures and I'll pick it up when he's done (if it looks good, of course)... :D

The problem is, I'm just not ready to spend $800 on the guitar with the hope I can clean it up after the fact... and I'm not interested in having "Satan rules!" scrawled on my guitar by someone who was clearly dropped on his head too often as a small child...

yeah no kidding, i'd never let anyone *famous included* near one of my axes with a sharpie. i do think you may have good luck with removing the marker tho, i know a guy around here who had his axe signed with a sharpie and he was trying to fiugre out a way to permanatly keep it on there cause it was wearing off by his hand touching it here and there. i don't think the EB will sell for $800 so maybe you could sorta low ball him and he'll take the bait.

I let one person sign one of my axes, Steve Morse (my hero) autographed my Steve Morse Model Music Man. The signature is discreetly placed on the top side of the guitar and then I preserved it by masking around the signature and covering it with some clear spray poly. The job turned out beautiful. So I have an artist model guitar signed by the artist. Some people think something like that is worth $35,000. cough moron on ebay cough cough Mine is not for sale. This is the only exception I can think of to the don't draw on my guitar rule.

This is the type of thing I can understand - an artist guitar signed by the artist seems perfectly reasonable, really. If Albert comes to Ottawa, you can bet I'll be at the show, and I'll bring one of my ALs along...
