My local GC had their Labor Day sale today and lo and behold they were doing a free giveaway on a Blue HH SUB guitar! I entered but did not win. Oh well...

But then the worst part was that they were selling two amber-colored Axis guitars for $699 each!!! Ohhhhh man that was painful to see and not be able to get. If my band hadn't needed new PA mains so badly I would've walked out with one. :(

Nope. Just regular ones with the HH/Floyd setup.

They're not. ;) I actually used to work at GC and for special sale events like that they'd "devalue" certain products. They'd basically pour more money into the base cost of the product in order not to lose money on those kinds of deals.

They put them on sale like that maybe twice a year. I guess I'll just wait until Memorial Day next year to get one. ;)

dead right, man. most people don't realize retail pricing gimicks. you get the best deal if you're willing to wait...
