Let's just say one wanted to "replace" the electronics in an HH Bongo with new EB stock components. Doable?

Keep in mind I've got an SR5, so if the bridge bucker is the same (18V/9V?), I wouldn't need to replace it... ;)

Just thinking out loud here.

When you say "electronics" do you mean pickups and preamp or just preamp? I had an HH4 Bongo awhile back and dropped a couple of stock EB Stingray pickups into it and had a custom guard made. They went in easily and sounded good to my ear with the Bongo preamp but a buddy of mine didn't like them as much as the stock Bongo pups. I ended up returning it to stock and selling it to fund a Bongo HH5 (which I still haven't found). The preamp might be a bit tougher, I'm not sure if the pot holes match up closely enough between an SR and the Bongo.

Hey, I remember you posted that at the DudePit. How'd it sound? Did you pop a Bongo p'up into a SR? Hm... That would require a bit o routing, wouldn't it? Very interesting~

It sounded great, the stock Bongo pickups are very good but I just love the tone of a stock Stingray alnico pickup. A bit clearer and brighter to my ear with a bit more output but it was a very subtle difference.
I didn't go the other way with a Bongo pup in an SR for the reason you stated, no routing allowed on my honeyburst babies!
