I thought the stock black pickguard was a little boring so I decided to make a change.

Wow.. I've seen pickguard swaps before, but I really, *really* like what that chrome has done for the black Bongo.

Awesome modification. It kinda reminds me of a cylon from "Battlestar Galactica" for some reason. Now if you could just add a sweeping red electronic 'eye'...

All he nees now is a flashing red LED now (could move up and down the fretboard) and he's cylon-ofied, in that case.

Nope....got it from Bryan Boots a.k.a. Dazbootman......excellent quality.......much cheaper.
Your right Mingus......that's why I got it....wakes it up quite a bit.

Bryan made me a mirror pickguard for my Cort Curbow Retro. Black does, indeed, look great with mirror 'guards. He even did a mirror trussrod cover to match. Someday, I'm going to get some lipstick pickups like Jack's new Lakland to complete the shinyfication of the bass.

Musicman Bongo content--

I thought about getting a mirror guard for Moby, the White Bongo. I went with gold acrylic, instead. :D

To answer the fingerprint question--they suck. Really. My problem is much worse, though: rubber pick shavings. It's the most obnoxious thing in the world.

the prints are bad but clean up real easy with reg maintence (little Windex and a papertowel after I play) - if you stay up on it it isn't too bad, but if you let it go awhile you have to do some heavy duty scrubbing.
