Hi guys,

My BFR arrived today.

I cut off the paper tape holding the flaps of the box, slid out the case.... only to find that the case was locked.

ARGH! :p

Is the case meant to be locked, or am I just too dumb to figure out how to open it up?

And yes - there was no key in the box!

Appreciate any help I can get - this is killing me!

Did you try using the key from your JP case  I've never heard of this happening. I wonder if its a new type of dealer torture...

It's this one:

I'm not entirely sure what the locks are meant to look like when they're unlocked, but the left keyhole is horizontal... and I'm able to turn the right keyhole with my fingernail.... but there's no latch or button?

The middle latch can be undone though!

I left the guitar at my office overnight, so I'll have to take my key in tomorrow and hope it opens!

The really funny thing is, I purposely didn't open it when it got delivered to my office, because I wanted my friend to witness the grand opening. So when I eventually dragged my friend to my office to open it (he had no idea what it was), it was a bit of an anti-climax.

So back to the original question then.... how do these G&G cases work?

I was expecting some sort of buttons that I could push, or slide sideways to make the latches pop up.

Having grown up with Colin I wouldn't put it past him to have asked for it to be delivered that way :D

That's a whole new form of torture... so near and yet so very far away.

Dear all,

I AM AN IDIOT.

There I said it. I'm typing this from the office right now (yes I took a drive here to try and give it another shot).

The round knobs with the keyholes MOVE SIDEWAYS! Duh!

Taking photos now.
