Hi all,

The least that can be said is that I had not shown much enthusiasm for Bongos so far.

Is it because they have so good user feedback or only because it may take some time to get used to their innovative design, well I don't know, but the more I see them, the more I feel attracted.

I actually feel very attracted by this one, found on Bass Central website.

Going to try to find a Bongo 5 HH and put my hands on it, then will give you the impressions of someone how was pretty much reticent so far...

:D

Cheers

Thanks. Most of my job is playing music live, so I guess I'd like to hear from anyone's experience gigging with a Bongo. Any experience sharing is of interest to me, especially if these Bongo players went from the road of SR5 (which I currently own and probably will never let go).

Bongos rock.

But it won't be like your SR5. I liked my Bongo but i've grown so accustomed to the sound and feel of my SR5s that I don't care to play anything else. Although I probably will own another Bongo some day. :p

Not played an SR5 outside of a music store, so I can 't help there. However:

- The ergonomics of the Bongo are superb. It's easily the most comfortable bass I've ever played. Well-balanced, too.
- The range of available tones is incredible. So you can play any style, and EQ to fit the room and the band very easily.
- Audiences love the look and will remember you because of the cool bass you play.

Bongo!!!

I too am a "convert" with the Bongo overtaking my Sterling as my Number One.

There's tone and there's balance, yes...

But for me it came down to "attitude" - the Bongo is a modern representation of everything a bass should be.

And bass playing is all about attitude.

Oh yeah, and it just looks so damn cool! :D

Bongo live = sits in the mix with 3 wanking guitar players and still lets the bass be defined. Even if not loud it stands out.

Light enough to play 4 hour gigs without shoulder strain.

Best of all. Just fun to play.

Hello Jay,

If you're not too far from Paris, there's this new store, Total Music, at Chatelet, where I think I saw a Bongo just like the one you desire...;)

Kayneex, I live in the Narbonne area, Paris is far away and I don't have the opportunity to go there for the moment. But it's good to know the big new Total Music store stocks Bongos. Thanks for the info.

Yep Bongos are totally great for live work, studio work or just messing about with:D

DOn't know what it is exactly, but for me it was love at first sight, and I haven't looked back since. Yeah i play other expensive basses from time to time, but there is not one I'd rather have than my Bongos!
