Many years ago I bought a Music Man sabre bass. It is Gloss black with a gold metal flake in the paint. It has a bright orange tortoiseshell scratch plate and the neck and head stock are finished with cream beading. The only number I can see on the bass is stamped on the bridge, under the A and D string saddles, and this number is C 002138. The only thing I was told when I bought it was that it may have been a bass made either for a customers specific requirements, or a bass that was made to showcase the model....hence the somewhat extreme look of the guitar. It is a fantastic looking thing, and always creates interest and comments from people who enquire as to what it is.... Can anyone help or enlighten me with any info such as age, where it has been on its travels etc.... Thanks....... Jonnythenotes.

I am a complete caveman when it comes to all things computer... but I will try and get a photo or two of it. I have had a look at the serial number register, and the guitar 1 digit above mine.. c 002137....is 1979 model . Are there any specialists in the U.K who could give it a bit of an overhaul as it has not been looked at for years now, and I know it sounded better when I got it many years ago than it does now....... Thanks in advance.
