Old School MM

yeah i was lookin at that a while ago, wonder how it sounds since were on the topic of vintage what came out first in the recent line of guitars? just curious
 
The seller does need a bit of a history lesson - MM from back before 1984 were not affiliated with Ernie Ball, but they were run by Leo Fender ;) .

Also, there is no such thing as a "1971" Music Man; I don't think their amps came out until 1974 and the guitars/basses weren't introduced for at least another 1-2 years after the first amps.

koogie - I guess there are some advantages to being 42 years old - I've seen a lot of things come & go over the years :D .

In a sense I might be heading full circle - my first good electric was a Fender Lead II (got it in '79) and my first good amp was a Music Man RD50 (got it in 1981).

I've given up on modern Fenders and am about one month away (but who's counting ;) ) from delivery on my EBMM Silhouette Special (s/s/s, trem, vintage burst, shell guard, rosewood). Once the EBMM is in my possession I'm pretty sure I'm going back to a small tube amp and pedals - likely a Fender Deluxe Reverb RI.

So, in 23 years I may be playing a Fender and a Music Man - just having switched which one is the guitar and which one is the amp.

Hey JohnC...I'm not too far behind you in the age bracket....I have seen my share of things (some very horrible and some very wonderful) in my time as well. But, one of the best "wonderfuls" (not counting family and friends) would be EBMM guitars. :cool:
