Back in 1996 I picked up a used Luke I (my second EBMM ever), and it was my favorite guitar. I ended up selling it to purchase a house (that I don't have anymore) and I've regretted it ever since. I do get to see it on stage every now and then since I sold it to a musician friend here in the islands.

Needless to say, I've been looking for another Luke I for a few years now. I finally found one here on the forums and after consulting with the mighty Fing, I made an offer for it.

It's been repainted in Black Sparkle!

EDIT: More pics added on page two!

I haven't had time to really take a good look at it and play it. I had come home from work for lunch and it arrived a day early!

The guitar is in pristine condition for a 1994. The only wear I see is on the EMG pickups where the logos are. It's pretty standard that it wears off with age. The neck is beautiful, just like a majority of the Luke's from this period.

Playing this guitar for the first time was like coming home.

Did it get repainted at the factory?
Must have an interesting history.
Glad you added another Luke to the collection

It was actually purchased from this very forum by another forum member. He got it custom painted... and now it's mine :)

I'll take more photos when I get home from work.

Thanks for your quick help in making my decision Mr. Fing Almighty! I'm glad I could ask you for your thoughts before I made the leap!

To be honest, the Black Sparkle hasn't grown on me just yet. The original dark metal blue color is under that finish, but I'm waiting to hear what kind of condition it was in before it got painted.

One day I may decide to try to restore it... but maybe not. I'm a sucker for that original metallic blue and burgundy that these instruments come in.... It will be a lot of work to restore it and this beautiful paint job would disappear....
