Hello, all. I'm a newbie to this forum, so please overlook any faux paus, while I feel my way. And, forgive me, if this subject has been addressed. My question is, what do you guys do with old strings, when you restring your guitars ? As an 'environmentally concerned' player, I hate to just throw this stuff away, when it seems there could be many uses, for so much metal. As a player, who changes strings a few times a month, I know this stuff starts to accumulate. And, multiply this, by all the millions of guitar players out there. I just wondered, if anybody out there, has any good practical ideas of how to deal with this waste ?
I know, some guys reuse strings for hanging pictures, fishing taclke, etc. But, I was thinking more along the lines of a large scale reuse for this stuff.
Just wondering ? "

I change my strings very often too. I'm a Vet and use the 9's for the castration of cats and dogs, saves me a fortune. Ya can take a pair off in seconds, they are fantastic.
