Are there older JP models for which the magnetic pickups still work even without batteries ?

I understand that the Piezo pickups won’t work without batteries but in newer models the magnetic pickups also don’t work without batteries.

If there are such models then I’d like to keep an eye out for used ones.

Thanks !

My 2007 JP6 works exactly like that. I don’t always keep a battery in the gtr so having the mag pickups working without a battery is convenient. Frankly I thought all JP gtrs w the piezo worked that way. I thought it was just Majesty gtrs that didn’t.

None of non-piezo regular JP models require a battery.

As the prior dude said, you may be able to find one with piezo that works without the battery as long as it doesn't have JP15 electronics. I think the only ones they made with JP15 electronics are the Cinnamon Shift and JP20 and one offs in the vault.
