Man I recall a while back there was some discussion on whether or not a particular guitar would make a difference in your playing...well I'm here to testify that it does. First off I want to thank the team behind the creation of the JP7, the builders and the man who the guitar was originally built for...I cannot believe how little effort is required to play, thus I can now use that energy to play faster...and I mean it, I am doing things on this guitar that I had to struggle with before, and I could never do it over and over again, smoothly and without error like I can now. Now I know what you Pet owners meant...I cannot put the thing down.
I've spent this past year re-aquainting myself with guitar, after a lengthy lay-off, and I've had the pleasure of owning a few different guitars, mostly EBMM's, and I want to say that I know I have found my guitar. I thought perhaps a thicker neck was for me, but the Pet was made for me and I am convinced that I not only need another (Piezo) but that it should be the only guitar I play...so I'm going to sell off all my guitars...I don't think I can play anything else...I'm in love...thanks EBMM, thanks John!

Oh just to add something I wish I could take this guitar back and show the tech from the music store how friggin low I got the action without any BUZZing whatsoever, he was arguing with me about the action on the Pet ( he won't be touching my guitar)...I think there should be a special course for EBMM guitar set ups
:D

Oh one more thing, if possible when the powers to be have the time, can I get a D.O.B.

Thanks!

Raz, I agree with your post, completely. Since I receive my Pet last Friday, I have not been able to put the thing down. The thing I can't get over about this guitar is how .10's literally feel like .09's on these guitars. I have never experienced that with any other guitar. I have had an RG770 for 15 years now, and I never thought I would meet an neck that felt so good...wrong! The necks on these guitars are simply the best necks available (IMHO), and definately the best I have ever played on. There is no doubt that my new Pet will be receiving some much needed company in the near future. :D As for my Strat and Ibanez, well, I think it's time to start thinking about retirement. :)

I've played a Pet before. Definately a very nice guitar. HOWEVER, the Axis SS and the Albert Lee have my heart.

I normally play with 10's however I believe the Pet's come with 9's and this just feels right, so I'm going to really have to think things over before switching...I also don't want to mess with the trem springs as they are perfect as is...

:D .....told ya!

Yes, the Pet comes stock with 10's.

Also, the Axis SS is an awesome axe as well. Different feel, but I liked Kbaim's when we jammed.

So Raz,

What is it that makes the Pet so awesome...?....I've read how people rave about this guitar.....but to you, what makes it so superior to the other EBMM guitars that you've owned?

I'm curious about this guitar.....since there isn't one locally for me to try out, I'm in the dark about its apparent mojo-magic.

Somehow I think I missed this ... congrats on the axe Raz, it's a beauty. I wouldn't mind getting one of them in a 6 stringer.

I was an Axis/EVH man, but after I got my first Pet, I was a changed man. I can never go back to the Axis now, it feels all wrong to me and I also love the 24 frets the Pet neck gives you.

Well before I answer, are you guys sure the JP7's come stock with 10's?
Maybe the store changed them to 9's!

OK well first off the JP's have a bridge that I have never seen before, the best of both worlds if you wish. Like a Floyd (but way better) yet with the ability to adjust individual saddle heights. Also, correct me if I'm wrong here, but it appears that the bridge plate has a slight radius to it, matching that of the fretboard.
Secondly the neck's dimensions just feel natural to the placement of your thumb relative to your fingers, put that together with the fact that you can get very low action on this baby, and you got one smooth and very fast guitar. There is no energy loss while fretting notes, thus this energy can be used elsewhere.
The last point is the body contour, again that has improved the use of my right hand as well.

Try one out, that's the best way to tell!

Raz...The JP's do come from the factory with 10's.
OK so I'm assuming the sevens as well...then I can only guess the store changed them...well this is good news cause now I will re-string it with 10's...I do notice a slight back slope of the bridge so the 10's should balance out nicely...thanks! :D

I hear you Raz. I've been telling you for a very long time that the Pets are just something else. Plus, there is definitely an undescribable "mojo" happening with them. Sure they look cool, they sound incredible, and they almost play themselves but there's also something else. Now I'm not stating that the other Ernies don't have the same mojo, I just haven't played another yet.

Yeah you guys were right. This year has been a journey for me, and discoveries have been made along the way...yet now it seems I have found the one I love :D

Telling someone is one thing, finding out for oneself is something entirely different, and special...

What I want to know is more info on that bridge, can we get a story here...or is it like top secret?

Sorry bro, they weren't getting played...

Sure I understand :p Pet is an outstanding axe I know that, but still I need more versatile guitar so Silo is my choice.

I am glad that you found "your axe". Congrats bro

Well first off am I correct in seeing a slight radius in the bridge plate? ( Something I have been thinkng about for a while...dang Floyds)

Secondly, who invented it, does it have a patent, was it created in conjunction with JP himself...stuff like that, my brotha!
