I don't remember what is the username of the man that takes care of the legal issues here but I was browsing through google for a nice stingray colour and this came up

High Quality Professional Decal Site

Scroll down and see that they are selling a whole range of EBMM instrument decals as well as other renown brands.

I'm not sure I understand why anybody would get too worked up over these decals.

I don't know why that would be hard to understand. Have you ever developed a product? Designed something? Written a song?

You think he could sell these logos on eBay?

The answer is "No, he could not." Because whatever company logo he's ripping off will be defended by the company who put the blood, sweat and tears into developing their brand and eBay will not allow them to be sold - because it's illegal.

any one of those companies put hard work into their products. Their brands have a worth in real dollars (if we want to look at it strictly financially). These decals cheapen the worth of the companies.

If I designed a product and someone tried to make money off of my reputation I'd be pretty angry. In fact my company is currently suing another for outright copying our design... we'll see how that goes.

Well, I lived in former Communist regime country, and in that "dark ages" of my life it would be only one punishment for such a crime: -death penalty firing!

Only joking! :D :p

I recently informed the German distributor about a faked MusicMan for sale.
Some folks might like a cheap car with the Rolls Royce Emily but it's just to put the money from a buyer who believes that he gets a MusicMan.

So I better put my order in soon before it gets shut down! Just kidding...I hate people who don't respect intellectual property or product copyrights.

While we are on this topic, I also buy all my music. No illegal downloading permitted in my household.

You still see them occasionally. At times people legitimately buy them for refinsih jobs...I actually have a classic MusicMan logo/waterslide. I wouldn't put it on anything other than a Musicman bass though. I picked up when I bought that 91 Stingray I owned for 2 days (had to send back....issues).
