From Guitar Player, December 2007, p. 88:

"Did you always play a Tele, or did you migrate to it as you developed your style?

".....My next guitar was a nice Strat-style Tokai, which I still have. In the '80s, country guitarists were playing Strats - Steve Wariner and Reggie Young, for example. Even Albert Lee, with his signature Music Man, was in that realm. I have a couple of those guitars, by the way, and they're great.............."

Coming from Brad - that says a lot!

I remember seeing Brad on Austin City Limits. He played "Two Feet Of Topsoil" and used a Sil that had a vintage Tele bridge with a Tele bridge pickup and a soapbar in the neck position.

He has another one with a fish motif...

Brad's a great player and offers up props to Albert in many interviews.

From an old Vintage Guitar Mag interview

"...Albert and I have become real close friends, and he comes out anytime I’m in the L.A. area, and he’ll sit in – for the whole show! We’ve got a habit of doing that (laughs). In Austin, Redd does the same thing. It’s fun... I love to make it a guitar thing. And the audience doesn’t know any different – they think he’s some new band member they don’t know. They don’t realize Albert’s the reason we all play Teles!"

Plus he doesn't look for the "star" treament at the ALOC meetings.;)

I want to marry Brad

And you won't even have to kill off Kimberly - just send her to me and I'll console her :D

Brad is awesome. You can see him playing an Albert Lee for a bit on his live dvd, Mud on the Lens. He also uses a MM90 ASS occasionally too.

Gear : bradpaisley.com

Brad's gear page, scroll down for the Music Men, and the Albert at the bottom. His guitar notes used to be cool (can't find them now), he'd list the exact guitars, amps, and pedals he used for every song. You can tell the guy is into gear.

Hello

I know Brad Paisley thanks to the US magazines (Guitar Player ...), but in France, he's not really famous. What would be the best album for a starter ? I think he made 6 albums (thanks Wikipedia !), which one I have to buy first ???

If you havent heard it yet check out the track Luxury Liner on Albert Lee's Heartbreak Hill CD. It's Albert jamming with Brad Paisley and Vince Gill. Now there's some serious chicken picking.:)
