Hi there, just wanted to wish you all a great 2007 in anticipation (today is my last day of work), and share with you this excerpt from a GuitarHoo 2004 Luke interview (from www.stevelukather.net). This are great things to say, I was seriously moved. If just some more people could try and act the same....

Here we go :

"G!: Are you at the point in your life where the music and family life is balanced and comfortable?"

"SL: Yes I am actually. I am groovin hard. Just last night it was raining out, my wife had the fire on, my kids were hanging out and I went outside with tears in my eyes and thanked God for my many blessings. I guess you get kinda fruity when you get older. Hahaha."

Way to go Luke, God bless you all

Ciao
Marco

I've seen this Luke guy do some amazing things.

But if you can say things with a guitar solo, and I suspect you can, if you're really seriously good at such things, I would suggest you listen to "I Won't Hold You Back Now".

I don't know how many notes it is - not many, maybe five or six, if you count octaves, but that, to me, is about as expressive as it gets. I love that solo. It's direct, it's to the point, it makes me realize that it doesn't matter how big your vocabulary is if what you want to say is "I love you", then it's just those three words.

Sometimes the direct route is all it takes.

Backstage at the Madonna Inn, where, I might add, we did not see one glimpse of the actual Madonna, Luke and I are cajoling yet another drink out of the bargirl, possibly past the time they claimed to stop serving drinks.

Bargirl: "So, are you guys like rock stars or something?"

(Jack looks at Luke, Luke looks back as if to say "It's yours to answer")

Jack: "Well, I am."

We're travelling down to the Newcastle gig the night before. Making a proper night of it with a meal out and decent hotel all booked. Shame the bloody ticket company have sent as tickets way off to the side at the end of a row, but sod it, the venue isn't that big and I won't let it spoil it for me. I've waited a quarter of a century for this...plus it's easier to go to the loo that way
