I was playing "Stone Cold Bush" by RHCP on my bass and, just when I was about to enter the quick bass solo, the G pops!

Anyway, I was wondering where I can find a large variety of strings online. I know of JustStrings.com, but they charge tax and shipping, just sometimes can double the total cost.

Well, I was using GHS Bass Boomers Signature Flea set, which were very nice, but I'm considering trying out TI Jazz-E Flats this time. But I'm wondering if there's any other online store out there with as good a selection as JustStrings without sales tax.

:p

If it's possible, maybe I'll just buy a single TI Jazz-E Flat G and wind it up on my bass. I wonder how that'll sound, with EAD on GHS Bass Boomers Flea Sigs and the G on a TI Jazz-E Flat...

Maybe I'll record it with my crappy soundcard microphone jack (Bass -> 1/4" to 1/8" Converter -> 1/8" Cable -> Soundcard) and post it somehow. :p That'd really interesting, no?

Best prices for TI strings is at the Dudepit

Even when Musician's Friend had their TI "blowout sale" recently, the MF prices were more than twice the prices that Steve sells them for.

Thanks!

I think I'll hold off on the string experimenting right now... The bass the G broke on has very good sound throughout. I'm gonna just get a standard GHS Bass Boomer G and save the TI Flats for another time... Maybe when I finally get that super sparkly MM SR bass of my dreams? Hahaha :p
