Somebody stop me! :p

With something like 10 or 11 guitars already in my collection, I needed another like a hole in the head, but for $650 w/nearly new SKB case, I couldn't pass it up: as of 10:30 this morning, in the middle of Grand Central Station, I became the proud papa of a yearling Luke!

I'll post pix shortly, but it's just a basic Luke Blue with a few gigging scars, no Blue Dawn or anything exciting like that....

In the meantime, if anyone's looking for a near mint sunburst Silo, the guy I bought it from has one up for grabs for $700 w/non-SKB case, $650 without - pix here aren't the greatest (cameraphone), but he sez the neck's got birdseyes aplenty:

BTW, I gotta say, the EMGs in this thing are really nice. I used to have an ESP strat with the gold single coil SA's, and while they were great with distortion, I always thought they were too midrangey and not "stratty" enough clean. Not the case with the singles on the Luke....still not exactly as wiry and airy as a real single, but they're gettin' pretty close!

Nice Score!

It's hard to tell from the pics but it looks like it has locking tuners AND a Floyd?
Did he Add the Lockers?

Hoo-ray!

Another Luke owner. Interesting to see if 6 months from now, PURPLESPORTS Luke will be getting the most action.

My prediction...

So long PURPLESPORT...hello LUKE BLUE

Thanks guys! Proud to be a member of the Luke club now too...I had a feeling it was on the horizon when I tried that Radiance Red one a couple months back, just didn't think it woulda happened this soon. Ah, fate...

To top it all off, this is an early birthday present of sorts from my oh-so-sweet girlfriend - she and I went halfsies on it! :p She was in the demo room when I played the aforementioned Radiance Red, and unsolictedly said "wow....that one sounds REALLY good!", so she knew it wasn't just an ordinary attack of GAS when I came in from work Friday going "Honey, yer gonna hate me...". Sure beats getting a sweater or something, huh?!? ;)

Keith, may happen, may not....I tend to rotate among my stable fairly evenly because one day I'll be grooving to one kind of music, and the next it can be something completely different. I figured the Luke would make a great addition to the fold because I wanted a guitar that could do more modern tones along with some vintage ones. The Sport and AL definitely can rock, but I found I was craving something heavier lately and my old Ibanez stuff just didn't feel or sound right anymore since I got into EBMM's. Problem solved!

Lew, I didn't ask about the Floyd specifically, but I believe I asked him if he modded it in any way and he said it was stock. He's apparently got a friend who has an even nicer one that he wants to buy so he's letting this one go, and apparently my Luke purchase will help him get a 335 to use with his blues band - he's a fulltime sideman/guitar teacher.

Oh, the aforementioned picture's attached....look for a picture of the triple threat in the "Pics Of My Guitar" thread!
