Hey ,

This is just a few shots from a gig at the weekend.it was a rally to try and save a local cancer unit. There was loads of great bands there and they all used my mark bass rig.

2 of the bass players were so impressed that they are going to change their rigs to mark bass !!

I play my SR5 for our set,it was just sweet !

there was also 2 other players with Stingrays.it really is a winning mix

about 5 hours of music all played through my rig and it never even got hot !

These amps are absolutely awesome. I also converted a few bass player friends to MarkBass. Not to hijack this thread, but interesting story for the latest one I converted :

Jan '07 : after three years of loyal services that ended up with crackling (something like bad contact between preamp and power unit), I decide to replace my Ashdown MAG300R with something else. At this time, I love the Ashdown tone so much that I plan to get an ABM500.
At the same time, my very best bass player friend, who lives a few miles from here, wants to switch from Ampeg SVT3-Pro to something else. He also wants an ABM500.
So we drive to the store, get our rigs out of his car and do the deal.
My friend leaves his SVT3-Pro & SVT810E at the store and gets an ABM500RC with an Ampeg SVT410HLF.
I leave my MAG300R (at this time i had decided to keep the MAG210T cab) at the store, and get an ABM500RC and an ABM115 cab to complete my rig.

April '07 : after only 1 rehersal, 2 auditions, 1 gig and some home practice, my ABM500 starts crackling (something like bad contact between preamp and power unit...). I call the store, and he tells me the amp must go to service in Belgium, since French distributor of Ashdown does not allow local repairs under warranty.
The store lends me a head (Hartke) and finally I get the ABM500RC back (3 weeks later).

June '07 : some kind of strange noise can be heard. I go back to the store, trade all my rig in, and get out of the store with the MarkBass rig. No issues so far.

Last week : bass player friend tells me he has some crackling in his ABM500RC (something like bad contact between preamp and power unit...). He is annoyed since he has auditions. I lend him my LMII. This week, he's going to trade his ABM500RC in for an LMII.

Don't get me wrong : Ashdown amps sound fabulous. Guess we experienced a bad series, with something that went wrong in QC.

Just caught up with this one DTG, and wow great pics. Looks like the weather held out for you too! That bass looks really sweet in action. The matching headstock is cool too. I'm not much of sparkles man but that combo is just perfect.

P.S. I'm just about to receive delivery of my new LMII. I'm looking forward to it but it will be a while before I can fully use it, as I won't be getting the speaker cab for a few weeks yet (let the bank balance regroup). The only speakers I have available at present are in combo amps. The LMII was simply an opportunity too good to miss!!

Looks like a lot of fun. All those people and nobody had an ale in hand while watching?

I think that pot of gold you are speaking about is to be found with the guy in your avatar.
