Opinions please

I'm really thinking about getting a supersport in an opaque colour (either Rad Red, Med Gold or Black to narrow it down) and have this crazy notion that I'd like to put some chrome covered pickups in it like OC did with his JP Mystic Dream. Thing is I didn't like the look too much without pickup rings so would have to add them.

Have any of you fitted pickup mounting rings to your ASS?

What did you make of the look?

Also how much gold is there in Rad Red? I saw Luke playing in London in the summer and remember thinking how much gold there was in that colour (isn't it sprayed gold first then red on top?). On a flat top like on the ASS do you think it could have the effect of looking red at some angles and gold in others?

I know this is not what you are wanting to do, but I love to customize my guitars. My stock super sport came with the cream p90 covers, knobs and tip. I had a pick guard made based off the old sport model and changed the covers, knobs and tip to black.. I always keep the old parts, so I can change it back if I want. I say make it your own.

I had never thought of putting a pickguard on my SS. I knew some of the original sports had them but I hadn't thought of how it would look with the flame. that's pretty cool. nice work too by the way.

I have seen a Wolfgang with covered pickups and pickup rings, and it didnt really do much for me. Didnt like the look of it at all.
