Hi all, today I ordered a Sterling 5 HS, Pacific Blue Burst with black pearl pickguard, maple board, plain headstock. Birth date some time in May. Gonna be long months waiting. I am sure it will be worth it. I am so excited, can't get the grin off my face!!!!! I tried to post from my "smart" phone but it didn't go thru. I hope this isn't a repeat. John

Your welcome BP! Had to give up another brand of bass and a guitar (a PRS that was awesome). But I am strictly a MM bass owner now. I've caught the fever....... and am not looking back!

That instrument will be as gorgeous to look at as it will be to hear.

Couldn't wait, a Sterling 5 HH in Pacific Blue Burst came available. I scooped it up. Exactly what I wanted except not HS. Will be here this coming week. Pictures to follow. John

Sterling 5 was supposed to be here this week. But got shipped out mid week, supposed to be here Monday or Tuesday. Having anxiety, GAS level high. With all this Bongo talk going on, I feel a need...........

She's here!!!!

Got a call today. "Bass is in"!!!! Wow, website picture of Pacific Blue Burst doesn't do justice to it in person. The grain on this bass is awesome, and the translucent effect brings out a the wood grain. I am a wood worker as a hobby, and I fall in love with figure in wood. When I am making cabinet doors, jewelery boxes, or other items I always choose the wood with the most figure in it. Who ever chose this "slab" to start with, I'd like to shake their hand. :D Couldn't have done better my self. I'll apologize for the pictures in advance, dark rainy gloomy day in Rochester with very poor lighting. Next sunny day (if we ever get one) I will retake some to highlight the wood. :(
A question: There was a small qc tag in the case. A circle with SKB around the circle, QC at each corner of the square, O1 at the center (probably the inspector). On the back was the date 07-23-10, is this the born on date? Saw no other reference to manf date in the case. I was told that it just became available. If that is the case, is it old stock from somewhere that didn't sell? I did notice that the RW looks really dry and the first thing I am going to do is apply fretboard conditioner. Just for the record, I am not complaining, just curious
I tried to add photos to my post but it wouldn't accept them, don't know why. Had to post pictures this way. Really ?????
